Holy Communion

There are many doors at St. John's! On Sunday mornings, you can enter St. John's through the big red doors right off of Harford Rd., or you can enter St.  John's from the parking lot side, either using the central red doors (our handicap accessible entrance) which lead directly to the Fellowship Hall/Kitchen or the red doors on the far right of the building. We have an elevator to assist you getting to and from the sanctuary. The sanctuary is located on the 3rd floor, or the street level.
All are welcome at the Lord's table!
  • Bread & gluten-free wafers and wine & grape juice are offered.
  • Those who do not commune are invited to come forward for a blessing, just come forward with your arms crossed against your chest.
  • If you are unable to come forward, simply let an usher know and the pastor will be happy to bring communion to you.

What to Expect

Once you get to the sanctuary, you will be welcomed by a greeter who will hand you a bulletin and will answer any questions you may have. You are welcome to sit in any church pew you like. The service follows the order of worship written in the bulletin and provides you information such as what the readings are, when to stand/sit, what the hymns (songs) are and where to find them in the red hymnbook in the pew racks, instructions for communion, etc. There is also a "Discovering Worship at St. John's" booklet in each pew rack which further explains FAQs about the service and St. John's. The worship services lasts about an hour, sometimes a little more. We are glad to have you worship here!

Need Accommodations?

Nursery Care

Hearing enhancement receivers as well as large print service books and music are available.  Simply ask an usher for help upon entrance in the sanctuary. A handicap accessible ramp is located from the church parking lot and we have an elevator which can take you to all three levels of the church building.
Our nursery is located directly down the hall from the sanctuary. Nursery care is available for kindergarten-aged children and below during 11:00 am worship and for children 2 years and younger during the 9:30 Sunday School hour.  There are also posts with activity bags for children to utilize during services.

Parlor

Our parlor is available for those who may need to step out of the sanctuary during services for any reasons.  It is located just outside the back doors to the sanctuary in the front lobby on the 3rd floor.  The parlor is equipped with technology, such as a television and sound that records the service, that allows for continued participation during the service.
