We join in prayerful solidarity with all those impacted by the catastrophic flooding in South Central Texas. Giving financially to the relief efforts of Lutheran Disaster Response is one way to put our prayers into action. Lutheran Disaster Response is committed to walking with communities for as long as it takes to provide relief and critical aid. Your gifts make a big difference in the lives of many.

Message from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America:

Our hearts break anew with each update about the catastrophic flash floods in South Central Texas. We join Bishop Sue Briner’s call to “pray, pray, pray for those who are still lost as well as the families of those who are lost, who have died, or who have experienced loss of home or property.” Merciful God, hear our prayer.

As ever and with your support, our church stands ready to walk with our neighbors in the Texas Hill Country as the floodwaters recede and rebuilding begins. Lutheran Disaster Response is coordinating with the Southwestern Texas Synod and will work with them and other partners to respond to urgent needs, provide emotional and spiritual care, and support cleanup and long-term recovery.

Your gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response ensure that our neighbors are not alone on the long road to recovery after disasters like the floods in Texas. Give now at ELCA.org/flooding/donate.
